Garden of Faith Community Garden located at 4146 East 71st in the Slavic Village neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio is a peaceful green space designed to connect, learn and grow. Our community garden is a welcoming space where faith, fellowship and growth come together. Our garden offers a place for individuals, families, and neighbors to plant, grow and harvest together. Our garden season begins May 1st, 2026- October 1st, 2026.
Garden of Faith was established by LaToyia Okere in May of 2023. What was once a forgotten, overgrown vacant lot filled with trash, broken glass, and weeds is now a beautiful green space. This land has been transformed by faith, hard work, and community. What some saw as a dumping ground, we saw something greater. Through the vision of LaToyia Okere and the hands of dedicated volunteers, families, and youth, this empty space became a living testimony of what happens when faith and dedication take place.
Our mission is to cultivate a strong healthy community with engagement through our garden. We aim to create a space where individuals can come together to connect, learn and grow. We create a safe, supportive space where children are encouraged to grow emotionally, spiritually, and mentally. We provide hands on learning experiences from STEM activities to community gardening that foster creativity, responsibility and leadership.
We offer a variety of workshops throughout the year that cover topics such as composting, seed starting, and pest control. These workshops are free and open to all members of the community.
If you're interested in becoming a member of our community garden, we offer affordable membership options that give you access to a plot of land to grow your own vegetables and flowers. Membership also includes access to our community tools and resources.
We rely on volunteers to help us maintain and improve our garden. Whether you can help us for a few hours or a few days, we welcome your help and expertise.
We offer guided tours of our garden in July-September to individuals and groups who are interested in learning more about sustainable gardening practices. This is a great way to see our garden in action.
If you have any questions or would like to get involved with our community garden, please don't hesitate to contact us. We would love to hear from you!
